Fandom is a subculture formed by fans characterized by feelings of empathy and camaraderie with others who have common interests. Fans are generally interested in the small details of the object of their fandom and spend most of their time and energy involved in their interests, often as part of a social network with some practices (fandom); This is what distinguishes fans "fanning" (fandom-affiliated) from those who simply have an interest.
As a child, we sometimes were despised, ridiculed and insulted because of our interests. For example, one of my friends loved Star Trek: The TNG Comics, X-Men, the Doctor Who, Spider-Man and many other things that are very entertaining, challenging and exciting. But back then he was tagged as nerds, geek, chair.
However under this new digital age, where internet world almost took over our real world, fans start to feel much less isolated. When they go online, the realize that they are not alone, and indeed the aggregate interest of netizens sometimes become the focus of the media.
Suddenly, the world is all in our finger tips and has become a playground for millions of people who share the same interests – it is not so secretive or weird again to make your interest aware. People start to be accustomed to the new cultural landscape. Fortunately, filmmakers, shows and other media have improved their game to the point that the products are always improving and be on people’s lips.
It looks like that the trend will continue and that each more and more quality of film studios and publishers will be treated. Do we like this new golden age? Possibly! Most people feel that the best is to come, and we will be allowed to enjoy a good story, interesting characters, and our imagination develops. It's for the fandom and everything you need.
