AD | Appreciation of Western Art

COURSE AIMS | This course explores Western art from the pre-historical period to the present day. Examining a variety of art movements and their masterpieces in painting, it discusses how various artistic features are tied to different historical, social and cultural contexts. The students are expected to learn how to appreciate painting as an integral part of a meaningful life and acquire a better understanding of the relationship among art, culture and society.
